Advantages and Disadvantages of Long Distance Relationships

Like any other relationship, long distance relationships have its share of advantages and disadvantages. Some disadvantages would even lead to the couple's break up. And what about its advantages? Are they worth considering just to save the relationship? Here's something for your mind to work on.

The Advantages

1. Couples can concentrate on their studies/work without their significant other distracting them or bugging them to spend time with each other.
2. It gives couples the time to bond freely with their friends.
3. Couples don’t need the permission of their significant other to do this or that (but only if you know what’s right).
4. Couples can feel independent and in control.
5. Couples can feel that “freedom" even when in a relationship.

The Disadvantages

1. Couples get tired texting and calling (for domestic distances).
2. Couples get tired e - mailing and calling (for international distances).
3. Couples get bored without their partners around and go look for a "replacement".
4. Couples fight more often.
5. Couples crave for more physical contact. which is another "reason" for cheating.
6. Couples can get distracted at school/work because they miss each other too much.
7. Couples can get distracted by other hot guys/girls and their partner wouldn't even know about it.
8. Couples can get emo-ish/lonely.
9. Couples can get emotional (mostly on the girl’s part).
10. Couples can get jealous of the other couples they see around them.
11. It hurts the heart, literally.
12. THEY JUST CAN’T TAKE IT, PERIOD.

You know, love is a funny fickle thing that we can play at. We do everything just for the ones we love. It hurts, yes. But i admire those couples who have been faithful to each other for many years. It’s amazing. How do they do it, you ask? It’s simple, really.

They stay together because they don’t look at all those crappy disadvantages. They don’t let those crap bring themselves down. They stay in their relationship because: They know it’s gonna be okay in the end.They know the sacrifices they have to make.They know that they can do it.They know that they can love each other no matter what.They know that nothing is gonna get in their way and they know they can trust each other.

Trust is the key. If you don’t trust your partner, then why the heck are you even in a long distance relationship? Let alone a any relationship! If you love someone (and i mean true love), you already know one night stands or cheating is bad, so don't do it. And you should know it’s not worth getting into. If she’s/he’s your true love, you would know that she/he is already the BEST. You won’t need an upgrade if that’s how you think.

For some people who are in long distance relationships, they hate being in it. They get jealous seeing other couples holding hands and stuff. It’s the feeling of being cared for that they seek. The feeling that you are appreciated in every way. And the feeling when he/she listens when no one else is there for you. That’s how much we love being in a relationship.

Long distance relationships may need a lot of work, but it’s gonna be totally worth it. For those who need long distance relationship advice, try asking the people who have been in one.
