Portrait Artist

Portrait Artist
A portrait is an artistic representation to depict the visual appearance of an object or a living thing. The face and the expression are predominant so as to display the likeness and the emotions of the subject with the image. Most portraits often show a person looking directly at the artist in order to engage the subject with the viewer.
Portrait-artist.org is a tutorial site where one can find tutorials for sketching and drawing faces, digital art, overview of art and drawing techniques, art supplies, book recommendations and anatomy. Artists or students who are interested in creating portraits could find assistance, tips and resources here. The site is ‘newbie-friendly’ and provides easy-to-follow instructions for beginners even though a little bit of experience is needed to create a portrait.
The tutorials provide details about the face and the head, as well as their overall structure. Understanding features is better since it would help the artist save time from having a trial and error method and it would enable them to create a more realistic portrait. It is the goal of the site to help the artists understand these features better. Freehand drawing is also encouraged in the tutorials since this is the most important artistic skill. Artists need not have to feel that learning how to draw more accurately is difficult but that it can actually be fun and exciting.
Artists using “traditional” art techniques, or those who make use of pencils, oils, watercolors and etc when drawing, are bound to be benefitted the most by this site. On the other hand, digital artists may also find helpful information regarding head structure from this. There is a Photoshop section but there is no 3D Studio Max. Artists who prefer drawing anime or ‘manga’ style would find this site helpful to them, too.
