Long Distance REAL-ationships vs RELAY-tionships

Ksm0749l
When you get into a long distance relationship (or LDR), you should have fully understood the mechanics of playing this so called game of love. In this game, you have to understand that time is of the essence and that communication is key.

In LDRs, you also play a mini game called the waiting game . It's a waiting game in the sense that you both may end up waiting for one another due to the time constraint. Because of this little fact, some couples eventually decide to break up. While some see this as a hindrance, other couples see this as a challenge to prove their love to one another.

Long Distance Love, as some prefer to call it, seem so unreal to most people. But to the people involved, it is as real as it gets. LDRs can work and have a fairytale-like ending if the couple in the relationship try their best to make it work for both of them. It's all about doubling the work that you would normally do for a short distance relationship. With the distance, don't expect to just let the love you have for the other to be the main reason for your relationship to last. Both of you should work it out.

If, in case, one or the other is busy, you should set a time for you guys to catch up. Don't let your relationship become a relay. As much as possible, find time for one another. Don't be one of those couples who seem to be in a relay game, passing batons back and forth without really spending time with each other.

Getting in a long distance relationship is not a problem. The way people see it, it's maintaining the relationship that's quite messy. Communication is the key. Listen to the long distance relationship advice that people who have been in a similar situation will give you. It helps a lot.

The Upside in LDRs

P78

When we hear people who are in long distance relationships gush about their relationship, you could catch a hint of spite and happiness. Spite since they are advice, learn to open your mind to the possibilities.

A Letter To Her Long Distance Boyfriend

A Letter To Her Long Distance Boyfriend

Each one of us who get into relationships get hurt at one point in time. It may either be because we were hurt by the one we love or we hurt ourselves in the process of loving. Nobody said that it is easy. Relationships are bittersweet, most especially the long distance ones. Below is a letter from a girl to her boyfriend.

Dear Long Distance Boyfriend,

I know it's getting a little kind of difficult for us to communicate at times because you're getting busy and I'm getting busy, but it's alright. To me, it's alright. I don't mind waiting for your free time because I understand what your work entails, as you're working with people. Since I am dealing with people in my line of work, I totally appreciate the short conversations and small talks we have every time that we get the chance. It's those little things that make me happy. You don't need to be always right by my side to put a smile on my face because the little things you do are enough.

People may think I am a hypocrite in saying that being chosen second to work is fine with me, but it really is. I know you're trying your best to save up for whatever the future will hold (hopefully for us), and I totally understand. I'm not usually a patient person but I am surprised that I can stand waiting for your name to pop up on Yahoo!Messenger so we could chat. My friends used to say that I am a kind of person who is afraid of commitment, that is a fact. Well, I used to, anyway. But as of now, I find myself doing things I said I will never do - like fall for a person who lives miles away from me. I was as surprised as they were when these things started becoming "ok" to me. I never expected this at all.

We've talked it over so many times, that we should trust each other. However, there are times wherein I just can't help myself from being a little jealous of the people - specifically the girls - that you hang out with. You know why I get jealous of them (because I can't be with you all the time, just like they do). But even when my mind seems to play tricks on me the whole time we have started being together, I block them out and listen to what my heart says. And it says, go for it.

I never was the risk taker, I don't know if you know that. I was also the biggest skeptic of long distance relationships. But here I am, and this is where we are - in one. Although I have now taken the risk of being really hurt emotionally, I look at the bright side. Maybe we could work. Maybe we can make this work. I know when we had that chat last night, I sort of lost my cool. I just really missed you. You've tapped the sweet girl inside of me, thats one side of me that no one (except you) has never seen.

I understand you got a little bit sad when I sent you that message saying you took so long. I got your point that maybe this was bugging me already, but it's not. I don't want to give up on this just yet. Not that easily, anyway. Yes, it's surely going to be an uphill battle, but we'll make them see that we can make it to the top. We'll write our own fairytale, with a happy ending that works in real life.

People can say what they want to say about our relationship, I don't care. All I know is that we do care about each other, even when we are currently apart. I hope you can hold on to this. I hope I, myself, can hold on to this. Thank you for the love. You make me happy each day. I loved you then, I just love you more and more each day. I can't say these three words enough. So here's an I LOVE YOU again and again.

Love,

Your Long Distance Girlfriend

P.S. Redeem your power hug and super kiss by carrying this letter when we meet.

P.P.S. I already miss you.

Online Love

P61

What is your idea of a relationship? Let me guess. It's something that has got to do with 10% laughter, 25% hugs, 30% kisses and 35% intimacy. I am most likely right, or aren't I?

Many of us believe that love exists although in the back of our minds, we doubt it. When can you say you're in love then? That real "cannot live without yhe other" thing and not just the really liking a person sort? I think try long distance relationship advice. They may not be specifically patterned around your relationship, but you get the idea.

Online love can be as real as the short distance ones. The only difference being the distance, which shouldn't matter really, if you're so sure you both feel the same way. Rules have some exceptions. So can love. It may even be you.

Distance Is Not Forever

Distance Is Not Forever

Simple_plan_i_can_wait_forever_lyrics.mp4 Watch on Posterous
In some (or most instances), we easily get tired of waiting. We are quick to dismiss anything that involves waiting around, like waiting for a page load for instance. We have all gotten used to being in a very fast-paced world wherein we seem to think that we cannot live without the help of machinery.

Just as we crave for everything fast and instant, relationships have come and gone as quickly as well. Although staying in a relationship for a long time is never put in league with those that lasted quickly (say a few months to a few hours only), they have one thing in common - patience. In the case of those relationships which ended up quickly, there was obviously a lack of patience. While if the relationship lasted a long time, there is an exact amount of patience involved.

Long distance relationships need as much patience as those regular relationships (e.g. those who live within a 10 mile radius). Upon doing so, this will help in maintaining the relationship for a longer period of time. If couples are afraid that their relationship be jeopardized by the distance, they should always keep in mind this piece of advice - that the distance is not forever, they are.

If you listen carefully to the lyrics of the song, it actually is saying the same piece of advice over and over. Sure, long distance relationships may prove to bedifficult but people can always conquer that if they will it. Now stop being a cry baby and man up to it. Face the music and sing with it.
